“Wish I was still there!”

What a fantastic lodge! Our arrival at the lodge was spectacular, with a boat ride from where the dirt track through Zambezi NP stopped at the water’s edge, to the island in the middle of the immense Zambezi river. All the accommodation tents and common dining/lounge areas overlook the majestic river, which provides a constant soundtrack of pulsing water throughout the lodge. The lodge buildings and furnishings have been designed to blend into the island environment with great elegance. Staying here was an incredibly relaxing experience, and you could choose to do nothing other than listen to the river and enjoy your surroundings or take part in game drives/sunset cruises/walks around the island/visits to Victoria Falls. And the food! Breakfast, lunch,dinner every meal was delicious and accompanied by excellent wines. The staff were all wonderful and the guides so knowledgeable, all managed by our gracious Gary. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

“Unique experience”

We had the pleasure of spending three unforgettable days at Tsowa Safari Island, and it was simply fantastic! Even before our arrival, we were kindly contacted to discuss the details of our arrival and departure, as well as any open questions. This helped us start our Tsowa adventure in a completely relaxed manner.

The island is beautifully situated in the middle of a national park along the Zambezi River. The hotel picked us up from a main road in a 4x4 vehicle, and the approximately 30-minute drive was an experience in itself – we enjoyed the stunning landscape and even spotted some elephants! Upon reaching the Zambezi, we were ferried across by boat, where Gerry and his friendly team warmly welcomed us.

During our stay, we enjoyed numerous great conversations and exciting excursions, including safari tours, a canoe trip, and a hike across the island. The food was extremely delicious, and the staff was consistently friendly and helpful. It’s worth mentioning that all meals, drinks, and excursions (excluding Victoria Falls) were included in the price, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

The tents are elegantly furnished and offer a direct view of the water – simply breathtaking! We were absolutely thrilled with our stay and can highly recommend Tsowa Safari Island. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

“African Adventure!”

We spent 3 nights here. Just amazing! It was surreal. It was how you dreamed an African safari would be. Gary and his team are amazing. The tents are definitely luxury. Large king beds. Bathrooms with showers. My husband enjoyed the outside shower. Nice deck outside your tent to just watch the river and elephants, monkeys, and birds.
We took 2 river cruises. Saw 13 hippos, crocodiles, elephants, monkeys, and birds. We did a game drive that was incredible. We saw a herd of 4-500 water buffalos in a watering hole. Gary took us a walk around the island where he explained about trees and wildlife.
We spent a half day At Victoria Falls, which was just the perfect amount of time. Gary arranged our travel there and back.
Food was outstanding. The chef even shared a recipe. Loved the dining room. The fire pit area was just nice to sit around.
Thank you Gary, Norman, Nesbitt, Boyd, and everyone else for making this such a memorable trip. We just loved it!

“Heaven on the Zambezi!”

Tsowa Island Lodge was magical and we were completely blown away by the Island, the camp and the setting on the mighty Zambezi River. It was hard to tear ourselves away from the beautiful tented camp and the decked lodge so we decided to make the most of our immediate surroundings. When we weren’t relaxing in the hammocks listening to the Island birdlife, lounging by the pool, or enjoying our coffee or G&T on the deck, we were on the river with Duncan.

Whilst on the river we were fortunate to enjoy Sundowners overlooking a large herd of Buffalo that came in for an evening drink, a morning cruise where we watched a herd of young elephant bulls wallowing and swimming, an afternoon canoe with John dodging the hippo and croc followed by another memorable sunset and ending with some exciting fishing where we caught tiger fish and nembwe. Needless to say we didn't want to leave!

Duncan and Francie were exceptional and we really enjoyed their expertise and company. The staff were charming, the food delicious and attention to detail around and about camp is evident. I can’t gush enough about our experience. It is certainly a special moment for our family that we will forever cherish.

“A Dream Come True”

When Freda, Gill, Val and I arrived at Tsowa Safari Lodge there was a great sense of excitement and anticipation.As we stepped onto the island from our boat we looked up to find a group of welcoming, smiling faces.
What a surprise to find a lodge, truly in the bush, amongst beautiful trees.We were led up to the living/decked are where we got a warm welcome.We could easily have spent the rest of the day lounging there taking in the beautiful surroundings. But it was time to see our accommodation......Wow! I was in tent No 1, had a beautiful view of the Zambezi River and also a creek flowing by on the side.My tent had every comfort I could wish for....with an indoor and outdoor shower, the outdoor shower was the best....showering under the stars with the sounds of the wild in the air. I heard the Pels Fishing Owl from my tent and then spotted it in a tree behind the tent.Everyday was special with tailor-made activities for the 4 of us.The silent elephant around the lodge added a wonderful element of surprise. A magic spot in the middle of the Zambezi River.

“Fantastic”

My spouse and I went to Zimbabwe to see Victoria Falls and Zambezi National Park. We had the good fortune to stay at picturesque Tsowa Lodge for three nights, which was a highlight of our month in Africa. The camp is fabulously small. In addition to lovely sitting/dining/bar area, campfire area, and swimming pools, there are currently 4 well-appointed guest tents nicely spaced for privacy. We were very impressed with the friendly and capable team Francie has put together, who collectively treated us like celebrities while maintaining a relaxed and comfortable vibe. The food was astonishingly good and guide Vusi was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and he made sure we saw a huge variety of terrestrial and aquatic animals and birds. We do not hesitate to recommend Tsowa to anyone contemplating staying in the area.

We have just come back from a family visit to Tsowa Lodge, we had an amazing few days. The staff are so helpful and friendly. The accommodation is five star. Food really, really good! We had a super
efficient guide that took us on lovely walks and river cruises. Thank you, we will be back.......

“Exquisite Safari Lodge on an Island in the Zambezi River”

From the moment we boarded the transfer boat across the Zambezi River to Tsowa Island we knew we were experiencing a very special destination. From the cool welcoming ice tea drink and the friendly attentive staff to the exquisite evening dinner menus - the crocodile tail kebab and Kariba crayfish starters were epic - this lodge met all our expectations. The island itself can best be described as a small piece of paradise.

“Simply incredible”

What a gem we found - we spent 2 nights at this new stunning lodge on the Zambezi. From warmth of the staff, the great food, comfortable tented accommodation and wonderful experiences both on the river, walking and game drives we didn't want to leave. Highly recommended.

“Lovely New Vic Falls option”

Absolutely loved my time at Tsowa - from extremely helpful staff and management to an idyllic setting, I loved every minute of my stay. The management even handled my gluten free dietary requirements perfectly. For a brand new property Tsowa is already a well oiled and professionally run camp!

Just back from the most wonderful safari holiday in Zimbabwe. Tsowa was our final stop and the perfect ending to our trip. Situated in the middle of the Zambezi River a perfect vantage point to see the hippos and crocs! Our wonderful guide Stanley was very knowledgeable, and we managed to see a wide range of beautiful animals. Food & wines were fantastic and the accommodation was clean & comfortable. Would definitely recommend.

“Unforgettable experience”

Our stay at Tsowa was truly memorable. The location of the lodge is unique; in the middle of the Zambezi River. On arrival we were greeted by a small group of elephants grazing on the island.

We saw a lot of wildlife on our game drives and were particularly amazed by the large number of elephants. We also had close encounters with a huge herd of buffalo coming to the riverbank to drink, zebra, giraffe, lion, hyena, kudu, baboon, hippo and many special birds. Some of us even saw a leopard!
The tents were well equipped and kept very clean. The views of the river are unbeatable and the sunsets are on another level. You really can't get any closer to nature.
We would like to say a special thank you:
- Stanley and Boyd, both very experienced rangers. You could tell they loved their job from their enthusiasm and constant smiles.
- Alfred, who always had a smile from ear to ear, for the very friendly service.
- Chef Chef, for cooking us the most delicious meals! It was spectacular. Especially considering the remote location of the lodge.
- All the other staff and the manager, Gary, for looking after us so well. Everyone was wonderful.
We will definitely recommend the lodge!

“Wonderful trip”

5 nights at Isibindi Africa Safari Lodge on the Zambezi, never to be forgotten! Such fun on the river, having coffee on the rocks or on a sandy island in the middle of nowhere, watching crocodiles and hippos, or an elephant having a mud bath on the back. A real highlight was canoeing on the river (with an instructor) and negotiating some rapids along the way. The main lodges and bedrooms were excellent, as were the food and service. Our guide, Stanley, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals and birds we saw on the game rides and was an excellent communicator, we were very blessed to have him. All in all, an excellent holiday!

“What a wonderful situation and treat when visiting Victoria Falls”

We had the most wonderful stay at this lodge which had the most professional staff looking after everyone. Friendly and accommodating and making our stay really special. The finest and most informative game ranger that we have encountered anywhere over the past 30 years of travels in Africa. The food was a total treat as well and always beautifully presented. Well done, Tsowa!!

“The time of my life. Choose TSOWA Lodge for your safari luxury glamping experience!”

TOP NOTCH high-end luxury safari experience at Tsowa Bush Lodge just outside of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. It's located on an island between Zimbabwe and Zambia and is surrounded by all of the natural wildlife you would expect in Africa. I saw elephants, giraffes, spotted dogs, and the list goes on and on. The amazingly wonderful staff, delicious gourmet food, and experience provided me with the absolute time of my life. If you must choose between bush lodges, chose Tsowa. You will not regret it!

“Magical moments on the Zambezi.”

My family and I just spent 5 days at the Tsowa Safari Camp, it is hard to describe just how incredible this place is. Located in the middle of the spectacular Zambezi River, this luxurious tented camp has absolutely everything you need. Everyday was filled with the most incredible activities; game drives, fishing, sunset cruises, and of course a trip to see the Victoria Falls! The staff are simply remarkable and make you feel at home. Last but not least, another noteworthy point is the food, we certainly did not go hungry as the chef prepared restaurant quality meals. Seriously could not recommend this place enough! Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Tsowa!!!

This was my first visit to Tsowa but definitely not my last. From the moment we stepped onto the boat to transfer to the island we were met with friendly, efficient and highly knowledgeable personnel. The accommodation, catering, staff and facilities were excellent and we enjoyed a peaceful time in the middle of the Zambezi. An absolute must for any adventurer.

“Unique, stellar set up with David Attenborough level guides!”

This 4-star resort is in a very unique location right on the Zambezi River was STELLAR! Amazing animal viewing + you are constantly fed delicious food/snacks + provided refreshments without even asking and the sundowners are Virgo perfection. My guide, Linos Nyoni, was a mini David Attenborough! This was my 5th safari, and I learned many new things! I highly recommend this off-the-beaten-path lodge.
