The story of Tsowa Safari Island is a story of new beginnings. In 2019 Isibindi Africa Lodges secured the concession to build an eco-sensitive lodge on the uninhabited Tsowa Island, thereby offering it protection and curatorship, allowing it to transform into a sanctuary where nature can flourish and our guests on the island can experience unequivocal tranquillity.

Tsowa Safari Island is located just 40km upstream from the world-renowned Victoria Falls. It is the ideal haven from which to explore the wonders of the area, while always being able to return to the absolute peace and privacy of your very own island in the middle of the Zambezi River.

The bespoke luxury safari lodge was built with great attention to detail and minimal disturbance to the natural environment, using all sustainable materials. Its design celebrates an intimate connection with nature where dappled sunlight filters through the indigenous forest canopy creating a serene atmosphere of ultimate relaxation.

The open plan lounge and dining areas flow seamlessly onto decks overhanging the Zambezi and offering breath-taking views over the river towards the mainland of the Zambezi National Park, where a variety of wildlife come down to drink at the river’s edge.

There are a multitude of activities available, from safari drives and game walks on the mainland within the Zambezi National Park, to canoe trips on the river and exploring the network of pathways on the island in search of our enormous, ancient baobab trees. Watching the sunset from our river boat cruise with a chilled beverage in hand, is an experience you may never forget.

“We like to think of Tsowa as a modern-day explorer’s camp, where we provide everything that you need and nothing that you don’t”

Duncan Elliott

Tsowa is a ‘once in a lifetime experience’ that you will definitely want to repeat.
